Overview

A 9 days private safari allows you to experience northern Tanzania’s very best areas for wildlife, scenery, and culture. The extra days allow a more relaxed pace (2 nights in each location) and the opportunity to visit the northern part of the Serengeti for the Great Migration.

Lake Manyara is an excellent introduction to African wildlife and ideal for viewing birdlife with over 400 species. Tarangire is a beautiful park filled with Baobabs and Acacias with a spectacular variety of game including lions, buffalo, elephants, giraffes, and waterbuck. The Ngorongoro is the largest intact crater in the world abundant with wild game including zebra, hippos, antelopes of all stripes, huge elephants, black rhinos, leopards, and hyenas.

The Serengeti is Tanzania’s most famous national park and one of the most spectacular parks in the world. These great plains cover some 14,763 square kilometers including expansive high grasslands, short grass plains, kopjes, forests, and lakes. Day 1Transfer from Zanzibar to Central Serengeti - Seronera Serengeti National Park

Your journey begins with a domestic flight from the stunning island of Zanzibar to the heart of Tanzania's wilderness, the Serengeti. Upon landing at Seronera Airstrip, you'll be warmly greeted by your knowledgeable guide who will be your companion throughout this adventure.

As you embark on your first game drive, you'll be immediately captivated by the sheer diversity and abundance of wildlife that roams these endless plains. After a hearty breakfast, your safari vehicle will navigate the rugged terrain, ascending to the rim of the crater. After a delicious breakfast, your safari guide will lead you on a captivating game drive, traversing through diverse ecosystems that encompass lush forests, expansive grasslands, and the shimmering waters of Lake Manyara. Keep your eyes peeled for the park's famed tree-climbing lions, as well as a myriad of other wildlife species, including elephants, giraffes, and hippos. Day 5Game Drive Tarangire National Park

Morning game drive in Tarangire, home to large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Picnic lunch in the park. Late afternoon transfer to Arusha or Moshi for overnight stay at a hotel (optional) or head to Kilimanjaro Airport for evening departure.

Day 6Optional Cultural Visit or Rest Day


Spend the day relaxing at your lodge or hotel. Alternatively, take an optional cultural visit to a local Maasai village to learn about their traditions, crafts, and way of life.

Day 7Northern Serengeti / Mara Region Game Drive

Transfer back to the Serengeti, focusing on the Northern Serengeti or Mara region depending on the migration and wildlife movement. Spend the day on game drives searching for big cats, wildebeest crossings, and other wildlife. Overnight at a luxury tented camp in the Northern Serengeti.

Day 8Full Day Game Drive in Northern Serengeti

Explore the Northern Serengeti’s vast plains and riverine areas. Optional early morning or late afternoon game drives to increase your chances of predator sightings and migration activity. Dinner and overnight at the same camp.

Day 9Return to Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport

Morning transfer to Seronera Airstrip for your flight back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport. Connect with your onward flights or spend the night in Arusha if your flight is the next day.
